During the school year, many families rely on free or reduced lunches for their children but once summer comes, there is no option for families.

Since 2004, The Salvation Army has been preparing and providing lunches for children throughout the La Crosse Area. They provide more than 13,000 lunches to children at no cost to them or their families. With help from volunteers and the community in providing the needed items, meals are loaded and dropped off and eight different sites Monday through Friday, beginning June 6th and going through August 25th.

With providing 300 cold lunches every day, The Salvation Army is asking the community for support. If you can provide any of the needed supplies listed below please drop off at the Salvation Army’s administrative office; 223 N. 8th Street in La Crosse. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit their website at http://www.salvationarmylacrosse.org/la_crosse/volunteer
