LA CROSSE – Drive-thru food donation collections will help fill families’ Christmas food baskets.
This year Thrivent is partnering with The Salvation Army to fill over 500 food baskets for families in our area in need. With the help of the community, four donation sites are set up to collect nonperishable items of food.
Families sign up for a food basket through the Angel Giving Tree Program. Each individual/family that signs up gets a food basket to provide a Christmas meal as well as additional food for the week. Items needed include: peanut butter, jelly, peaches, pears, green beans, cake mixes, frostings, boxes of cereal, macaroni and cheese, and ramen noodles. Gift cards and monetary donations are also accepted to purchase items such as turkeys, chickens, milk, bread, and eggs.
“Thrivent is a fortune 300 financial services company and so much more, we are a community of people looking out for people, creating impact in all we’re a part of, and spreading generosity”, said Sarah Siefkes of Thrivent. “So naturally, we couldn’t be more proud to partner with the Salvation Army to provide full hearts and full plates for hundreds of La Crosse County families during the holiday season with our Fill the Food Basket drive thru food drives.”
