Who We Are:  An FM Christian radio network with studios located in Sparta, Wisconsin, and 9 full-power FM stations located throughout Wisconsin and in Minnesota. 

What We Do: “Music to Encourage. Teaching to Equip.” Prayz offers a variety of contemporary Christian music to encourage listeners in their walk with the Lord, and solid-Bible teaching programs to equip listeners to grow in their relationship with Jesus and share their faith with others.

Hours: Part-Time, Flexible, Contractor

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT DIRECTOR – Community Relations * Fundraising/Donor Development * Promotions
Location: Prayz Network Studios– Sparta, WI
Hours: Full-Time

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Understanding, embracing, and communicating Prayz Network’s mission and vision.
  2. Community Engagement: Initiating and cultivating relationships with new and existing listeners/donors. Contacting (by phone, email, in-person) on a regular basis; building relationships, praying for their needs. Building positive ongoing relationships with community partners, businesses, churches, volunteers, and others.
  3. Promotions: Developing on-air promotions and giveaways in coordination with Program Director, Office Administrator, and On-Air team. Securing Prizes. Developing fun contest strategies.
  4. Fundraising: Successfully developing the financial support base to further the mission and outreach of this 100% listener-supported radio ministry, to include developing fundraising strategies (events, on-air, sponsorships, grants, etc.) and developing effective special appeals for capital expenditures, as well as ongoing and year-end giving campaigns. Working with team to promote and organize semi-annual on-air fundraisers. Obtaining matching-gift and in-kind donations, partnerships & sponsorships for fundraising events.
  5. Community Events: Helping team organize and execute community events, outreaches, and drives throughout local listening area. Represent Prayz Ministry at community events.
  6. Underwriting: Initiating and managing program sponsorships and underwriting support for the ministry, including writing proposals, contracts, and spot copy in compliance with FCC rules.
  7. Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills: Working with the team to plan and write monthly and quarterly direct mail and email communication, promotional materials, etc.
  8. Marketing: Developing marketing strategies to reach new listeners throughout coverage areas.

Qualifications:

  1. 3 years’ experience in community relations/fundraising/donor development or comparable position required.
  2. Adept in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  3. Strong interpersonal skills; excellent oral, phone, and written communication skills; comfortable with public speaking.
  4. Self-starter with excellent research, organizational, and project management skills.
  5. Ability to network and make direct appeals (phone, email and in-person).
  6. Enjoys collaborating with a fun, energetic, creative team passionate about sharing Jesus.
  7. Flexible with ability to adapt and excel in radio’s fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  8. Professional, positive, creative, and friendly, with a heart to serve others.
  9. Desire to learn and grow personally and professionally.
  10. Experience with Customer Relationship Management system (Bloomerang), Adobe, Canva, Graphic Design, Website and/or Mobile App Development and Maintenance a plus.
